Let's break down the CFOP Method into four steps:

◈ The Cross: Begin by solving the four edge pieces in one outer layer of the puzzle, centered around a commonly colored center piece.

◈ First Two Layers (F2L): Pair up corner and edge pieces and move them to their correct location. This stage includes 42 standard cases for each corner-edge pair.

◈ Orientation of the Last Layer (OLL): Manipulate the top layer to ensure all pieces have the same color on top. This stage involves a total of 57 algorithms. A simpler version, known as "two-look OLL," orients edges and corners separately using nine algorithms.

◈ Permutation of the Last Layer (PLL): Move the pieces of the top layer while preserving their orientation. This stage features 21 algorithms. "Two-look" PLL solves corners and edges separately using six algorithms.
